Uncompromising Standards

Quality in the timber industry is not accidental; it is the result of systematic oversight at every node of the supply chain. We maintain zero-tolerance policies for structural defects and moisture inconsistencies.

1. Forestry Selection

Logs are evaluated for growth ring density, straightness, and disease before leaving the forest. Only premium logs proceed to our milling partners.

2. Milling Precision

During the primary breakdown, state-of-the-art scanning technology maximizes yield while identifying internal defects, ensuring structural integrity.

3. Kiln Drying (KD)

Moisture content is strictly monitored. Materials are dried to specific tolerances (typically 15-19% for framing, 6-8% for interior finish) to prevent warping and checking.

4. Human & AI Grading

Every piece is graded twice: first by specialized optical scanners, then verified by certified master graders to meet or exceed WWPA/NHLA standards.

Grading Specifications

Grade Classification Primary Application Visual & Structural Criteria
Select Structural Exposed heavy timber, high-stress beams Maximum strength, strictly limited knots, no decay.
No. 1 / No. 2 Dimensional General framing, trusses Reliable structural integrity, moderate tight knots allowed.
Clear Vertical Grain (CVG) Premium siding, high-end millwork Straight parallel grain, completely free of knots and defects.
FAS (Firsts and Seconds) Hardwood furniture, cabinetry Minimum 83.3% clear-wood yield, highest premium hardwood grade.
